Since 2012, Second Chance Center, Inc. (SCC) has empowered individuals transitioning from incarceration to build stable, independent lives and contribute positively to their communities. Under the leadership of Executive Director Khalil Halim, SCC provides a holistic array of services that support justice-involved individuals on their journey toward lasting change and self-sufficiency.

As a developer of permanent supportive housing and a provider of transitional housing, SCC creates secure, supportive environments that serve as the foundation for re-entry success. Our housing programs are complemented by comprehensive services, including case management, mentoring, behavioral health, substance misuse recovery, and career pathways programming, which offers clients the skills and opportunities needed for meaningful employment. Additionally, SCC’s supportive service programs address a variety of client needs, meeting them where they are and empowering them to reach their goals.

Our trauma-informed, client-centered approach addresses complex barriers such as past trauma, addiction, violence, and economic challenges, helping clients build resilience and realize their potential. By offering tailored, compassionate support, SCC enables individuals to transform their lives while reducing recidivism and contributing to safer communities.
