Apprenticeship Readiness for the Construction Trades Industry

Preparing individuals for high-demand careers in the skilled construction trades, SCC partners with local trade unions, contractors, and training organizations, to ensure graduates are job-ready and positioned for success in careers that offer livable wages and long-term stability. This program provides:

  • Industry-recognized pre-apprenticeship training
  • Hands-on learning with experienced trades professionals
  • Job readiness support, including OSHA-10 certification
  • Direct pathways to registered apprenticeships and union jobs
  • Tools and resources to remove employment barriers (e.g., work gear, transportation assistance)

Never Going Back (NGB) – 7 Steps to Never Going Back to Prison

CBT based peer mentor group based on principles outlined in the book Never Going Back; 7 Steps Never Going Back to Prison authored by SCC founder Hassan Latif.

TreeForce – Urban Forestry Program

The TreeForce Program, in collaboration with The Park People, provides hands-on training in urban forestry, environmental conservation, and green job opportunities while also contributing to healthier, greener communities . This innovative workforce development program offers:

  • Skills training in tree care, planting, and maintenance
  • Paid on-the-job experience in urban forestry
  • Certification opportunities for long-term employment

CREW Transitional Housing Program

The CREW Transitional Housing program at Second Chance Center provides a safe, supportive environment for justice-involved individuals as they transition back into the community. Residents work closely with a dedicated Care Manager to receive personalized support and resources, helping them rebuild their lives with stability and confidence.

Housing Support

Stable housing is a critical foundation for successful reentry, and we are committed to providing pathways to secure, supportive housing for justice-involved individuals. Through partnerships and funding opportunities, we offer a variety of housing support options, including transitional housing, permanent supportive housing, and assistance in navigating housing resources.

Eligibility for housing support is determined by specific funding criteria, program guidelines, and client engagement in our services. While we strive to connect as many individuals as possible to housing solutions, availability is subject to funding and program capacity.

Transitional Housing:

Temporary, secure accommodations with care management support to help individuals stabilize and work toward independent living.

Stable Housing:

PATH and Residences on Acoma offer permanent supportive and affordable workforces housing, providing safe, stable homes with on-site supportive services for long-term success.
